Fee Structure
Independent Living Fees
One-time Admission
Holds your room at Friends Home and covers administrative processing, referral fees, and necessary room turnover costs (e.g., repainting and reflooring).
This one-time fee is $5,000.
Room & Board
Monthly standardized fee determined by the location of your apartment or suite and covers virtually all operating expenses.
For those who want a second person (such as a spouse or support person) living in the same room/apartment, a Second-Person Fee of $1,039/month will apply.

Supportive Independent Living Fees

Holds your room at Friends Home and covers administrative processing, referral fees, and necessary room turnover costs (e.g., repainting and reflooring).

Monthly standardized fee determined by the location of your apartment or suite and covers virtually all operating expenses.
For those who want a second person (such as a spouse or support person) living in the same room/apartment, a Second-Person Fee of $1,039/month will apply.

Your care needs and associated fees will be formally reviewed annually or upon a significant change in condition. Fees may be adjusted up or down to ensure you are always receiving the exact level of support required.

- Personal Services: Hair salon or barber services.
- Transportation: Non-scheduled transportation or special trips outside of community events.
- Special Purchases: Items purchased on your behalf (e.g., specific durable goods or specialized medical supplies like Ensure, Depends).

Do rates change annually?
Yes. Our rates are reviewed annually.
As a non-profit, any necessary changes reflect only the rising costs of operations, staffing, and maintaining the Friends Home’s high standards of care.
How often is my level-of-care fee evaluated?
Your care needs are formally evaluated annually or upon any significant change in your health to ensure you receive the optimal support.
Your Level-of-Care fee will be adjusted up or down to reflect your current support needs, promoting your maximum independence and wellness.
What if my financial situation changes dramatically?
We are dedicated to supporting our residents. Current residents can apply for our Resident Assistance Program to obtain financial aid.
We encourage you to speak with the Executive Director confidentially about any significant changes in your financial situation.
Does Friends Home take Medicare or Medicaid?
No. Friends Home in Kennett is a private-pay community and is not certified by Medicare or Medicaid for any of our levels of care.
