Just outside our doors, the town of Kennett Square offers a year-round calendar of events that residents are encouraged to enjoy. From art walks to food festivals, there's always something happening on State Street and beyond.

Third Thursdays on State Street
On the third Thursday of each month, State Street fills with outdoor dining, live music, and community fun.
Local restaurants set up tables outside to enjoy the excellent weather.
The Mushroom Festival
Kennett Square celebrates its identity as the "Mushroom Capital of the World" with this iconic street fair.

Longwood Gardens Events

Live Music at The Kennett Flash
The Kennett Flash is the heart of our local music scene—a vibrant community hub where neighbors gather to discover new artists and enjoy old favorites.
This intimate venue hosts a diverse lineup of live music year-round, from folk and jazz to rock and tribute acts, plus regular open mic nights.

Brandywine Valley Symphony
Formerly the Kennett Symphony, this professional orchestra performs at extraordinary venues across the region.
Their season includes concerts at the Kennett Library, Winterthur Museum, and Longwood Gardens.

For residents who want a bigger adventure, we regularly arrange group trips outside of our Square.
These outings make it easy to experience world-class culture with the comfort and camaraderie of friends.
In the past, our adventurous residents have relaxed on the Marsh Creek Reservoir, delighted in the music of the Grand Opera House, and cheered on the teams at Wilmington Blue Rocks.
